COMMENTS

Keir Dullea and Paul M. Heller in person.

David (Keir Dullea) is an incredibly intelligent young man who has a mental illness which causes him to be institutionalized. He is deathly afraid of being touched by other people and often a soft touch by someone can send him into hysterics. In his "school" he also exhibits antisocial behaviors towards everyone but Lisa. Lisa (Janet Margolin) is another student who suffers from schizophrenia and has two personalities: one does not speak and the other only teases in rhymes. Somehow both Lisa and David are able to connect with one another and grow together and head down the road to recovery. Though there are some bumps in the road for the couple, they are still a perfect match and their love can help them conquer their illnesses. Margolin and Dullea deliver impeccable performances as the troubled youths.
