Epilogue

This is a suspense film of a human hunt, of the eternal hunt of the sexes. A man of 44 meets a girl only half his age. They are bound together for a short time by a hectic physical affair, but the truth becomes apparent to them in a relatively short time—there are too many things that separate them. One of the things that separates them is another hunt—the older man's hunt for his past, after an absence from Denmark of 17 years. He seeks out his past through friends with whom he fought in a resistance group during the war. The streets of Copenhagen then become the scene of a third hunt: the hunt for a man who has been dead for years. There is a comment made about past and present, love and hate, youth and a generation that went through a monstrous war, a comment that applies not only to people who have experienced it, but to anyone else as well.
