Pascal Thomas in person. This insightful, utterly charming film is about the generation of girls who reached womanhood at a time when moral codes were undergoing spectacular changes (1950-1970). These changes are observed through the lives of three sisters, members of a modest family, each with her own very particular personality and dreams. Their destinies unravel in relation to the changing world around them, but the film never resorts to cliché or “generation gap” devices that so often mar such a story. Rather, each character is a very real person, played to perfection by three unknown actresses that we are sure to be seeing again. The fifth feature by young director Pascal Thomas, Heart to Heart is a funny and intimate look at two turbulent decades that changed the nature of our lives.
