It’s January 1, 1959. Juventino is robbing a Havana bank with two petty criminal friends when a beautiful woman interrupts the job. Jubilant people then pour into the streets to celebrate the victory of the Cuban Revolution. Thirty-five years later, Juventino retrieves a bag dropped by a beautiful woman who resembles the woman in the bank. The bag is filled with money and Juventino begins an obsessive search for her. His quest takes him to a clairvoyant who reads paperback romance novels with their endings cut out and helps him end his fantastic adventure into the past. Daniel Díaz Torres last directed Alice in Wondertown (SFIFF 1994).
