The first film written and directed by actress Dyan Cannon, as part of an American Film Institute project, Number One is a sensitive study of everyday children which is based on a true experience in Ms. Cannon’s personal life. This 42-minute film was greeted with great praise at the recent International Festival of Women’s Films in New York. Following the screening, Ms. Cannon will discuss her film with the audience.

In 1967, two years prior to her death, the Festival honored Judy Garland in the first (according to the program note) American homage of her work. Garland was unable to attend.
