This Year’s Love

When tattoo artist Danny and his beautiful bride Hannah are dashing out of the chapel, little do they know that their fresh marital bliss will crumble before the knife slices the cake. Thirty-five minutes after the ceremony, Danny discovers that Hannah has been sleeping with his best man, setting in motion a game of romantic musical chairs. The players: Marey, backup singer in a local pub band; Cameron, nonbathing self-proclaimed artist; Sophie, New Age single mom with an attitude; and Liam, socially inept comic book collector. David Kane’s first feature examines the complex politics of love, sex and relationships through the bittersweet irony of chance and coincidence. Set in North London’s hip Camden Town, the eclectic lifestyles of its inhabitants provide the perfect backdrop as we circle the lives of these six twentysomethings, each as curious as the next. Their paths mingle and interweave, revealing the passionate, sometimes painful, truths about the search for love. With stunning performances from this unlikely ensemble, Kane leads us through the trials and tribulations of modern relationships.
