David Vassar in person; Paul Winter Consort performed in person.Canyon Consort is a musical journey of creation with the Paul Winter Consort. Over a period of three years, they traveled through the Grand Canyon of the Colorado River, gaining inspiration for a suite of songs. When the time came to record them, they carried all their instruments and recording equipment to the bottom of the canyon. Canyon Consort is more than the filmed record of the session—it’s an entertaining journey through an extraordinary part or the world. The second part of the film follows Winter and his group to the Cathedral of St. John the Divine in New York City, where they are artists in residence. Producers John Lyddon and David Vassar have created an intimate film portrait that captures the ancient spirit of the Grand Canyon, and the musical experience it inspired.
